PLUG-IN SWAXS for Diffractometers

After successfully upgrading the D5000 with the new Mythen2 detector from Dectris, we added another feature to the D5000 providing a multi-functional small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering/diffraction (SWAXS) apparatus. The excellent robustness and mechanical accuracy of the D5000 makes it a valuable candidate for this extension, where the structural characterization of nanomaterials is possible in a wide size range from <0.1 to 100 nm by a combination of the small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering techniques, without a gap in the detection range between the small- and wide-angle regimes. After proper alignment and adjustment, the device can be removed and re-attached at any time to switch between normal XRD and SWAXS functions.
